As the list is probably incomplete, feel free to notify the webmaster if
you think someone should be added to the listing. We tend not to mention
ever step in the process to raising a pilot's qualifications, usually the
completed qualification or major steps.
PS We've been told that there were more first solos and badges in some years, but if
you don't tell us who did what, we can't add anything.
Matthus Lehmkuhler - solo in June (visitor from Cambridge)
Mark Galler - solo in May
Nick Patterson - solo in April after a 10 year gap from gliding
Oskar Niessen - solo in April, also at age of 17
Ollie Wheeler - It's January and again we have a cadet (aged 17) going solo, the first solo of the year
Elliot Akama-Garren - completed Bronze Badge, June
Francesca Gregory - completed Cross-Country endorsement, May
Ollie Wheeler - Cross-Country endorsment, May
Ollie Wheeler - Finished his Bronze Badge, April
Maz Makari won the Gold medal in the 2017 Dan Smith Aerobatic Competition, in April.
Julian Bane received the new Haywood Aviation Award for Excellence in Gliding Instruction. (March)
Andy Perkins received the Alex Ward Trophy for Services to Junior Gliding (March)
Bob King received a BGA Diploma for his work with our club during the sale of the airfield by the MOD and for successfully guiding the club through the transition to a commercial lease with our new landlords, Bicester Heritage. (March)
